New Environmental Stress Screening Oven
Responding to increased demand Challenger Solutions have installed and commissioned a new heat cycling oven capable of reaching temperatures of 180°C and -70°C at a whopping rate of change of 20°C per minute.
“The demanding requirements of the aerospace and defence industries regarding operating temperatures have meant we need to provide more resource in this area to give our customers confidence” - Jon Webb, Sales Manager.

New Seho Forced Air Convection Reflow Oven
Additional capacity has been added at Challenger Solutions with a second Seho GoReflow 2.3 forced air convection oven. The company now boasts two Seho GoReflow and two IBL Vapour Phase ovens providing efficient and flexible surface mount soldering.
“It’s sad to see the old IR oven go” says Production Manager Phil West “but the throughput and quality of the forced air system are a vast improvement and this standardises the soldering technology across the company”.

Further growth at Challenger Solutions sees the requirement for additional sales capacity. Richard Hancock brings to Challenger Solutions Limited a great depth of experience with 21 years in the Contract Electronics Manufacturing market working with many UK OEM’s and European blue chip organisations.

BBC Points West Showcases OC Robotics “snake-arm robot” technology – with Challenger Solutions built PCB’s
How do you go about cleaning up a nuclear power plant when no one can safely go inside? Or inspecting the inside of an aircraft wing after it’s been welded?

Further Investment in Capacity
Challenger Solutions Limited has upgraded its range of pick and place machines by purchasing an additional Juki KE-2060. The machine, which has a maximum placement rate of 12,500 placements per hour, has replaced the older Zevatech PM570 and brings the number of current fast machines to five.
“We are very pleased to be able to upgrade the pick and place machines, although the PM570 has been a stalwart from the very start of Challenger, 15 years ago, the KE-2060 is faster, more accurate and more reliable so a great improvement” says Phil West, production manager, “another great advantage is the fact that all the machines now operate using the same feeders and programs”.

Challenger Solutions has had its Environmental Management System accredited to the international ISO14001:2004 standard in a demonstration of its commitment to the environment.
